Cadre review of Junior Commissioned Officers approved- Gen. Bipin Rawat

–          1 lack 40 thousand promotions to be implemented from 1st January 2018
Pune, 1 December 2017 : GenBipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff spoke today at Pune about the cadre review of Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO), which was pending with the government for over 10 years. He said that it is now been approved & to be implemented from 1st January 2018. It includes 1 lack 40 thousand promotions of Junior Commissioned Officers, including 457 new  Subhedar Major vacancies.
He was speaking at the program organized by Pune International Centre (PIC). The Book-  ‘Securing India the Modi Way’, authored by eminent Journalist and National Security Analyst Mr. Nitin A Gokhale, was launched at the hands GenBipin Rawat on Friday at College of Engineering Pune (CoEP). Air Chief Marshal P V Naik, Lt. General D. R. Soni, GOC, Southern Command, Prashant Girbane, Hon. Director, PIC were present on the occasion.
Ravat mentioned, ”It’s very tough to get promotions in the army. Only 0.18 percent people rise to the Two Star rank. For the Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO) & other ranks, the pyramid is even steeper. The cadre review of Junior Commissioned Officers was pending with the government for over 10 years. It is now been approved & to be implemented from 1st January 2018. This includes 1 lack 40 thousand promotions of JCO’s, with 457 new  Subhedar Major vacancies.
Ravat said, ”Development of Infrastructure along the northern borders is moved at the fast pace, Also lot is happening regarding  getting modernized ammunition, and We are getting very good support from the government. ”
No army can be successful if they don’t care for their veterans. We’ll always ensure that anybody who has been a part of uniform will remain a part of the uniform up to his grave, he added.
